February 13, 2015
From David Del Valle in Madrid
Telefonica’s IPTV platform Movistar TV is upgrading its pay-TV offer with the addition of new channels and HD services. TV channels operated by Viacom such as MTV and Nick Jr are new to Movistar’s TV along with the HD versions of Spanish TV broadcasters like Antena 3 and La Sexta.
Movistar plans to increase the number of its HD channels to offer a wide range of these services in line with what cable operators like ONO are currently doing.
Meanwhile, Mediapro is launching on its Formula One channel, F1 Latin America, in Latin America on all pay-TV platforms across the continent on March 1st. The channel will include interactive applications and the service Secondscreen to watch the channel at any time and any place.
