Romania opens DTT tender

Romania’s telecoms authority ANCOM has received 5 applications to run two new DTT multiplexes.
The applications come from 2K Telecom, Radio M Plus, Regal, Cargo Sped and Digital Video Broadcast.
The tender calls for coverage of 2 national multiplexes as well as 40 regional and 19 local transmission options. The licences will run for 10 years and services must start on June 17th this year.
ANCOM’s timetable calls for a review of the applicants on January 20th and the winners of the first round will be announced by the end of the month as well as deciding whether a second round is needed.
