Netflix has Friends to the end

To ring in the New Year, Netflix has added all 10 seasons (236 episodes) of popular US sitcom Friends to its VoD service.
Friends is available in HD and widescreen through Netflix. To remaster the show, Warner Bros had to rescan all of the episodes in HD from its original 35mm film. The images then had to be up-converted from the standard 4×3 aspect ratio to 16×9.
Netflix has also picked up several ‘lost episodes’ of the show that have never been seen anywhere before. The new footage features romantic scenes between Joey and Rachel – two of the show’s main characters – that the producers chose never to air during its original run.
