TF1 launches HbbTV TV-shopping app
June 2, 2014
From Pascale Paoli-Lebailly in Paris
TF1’s TV shopping show Téléshopping has launched a new TV shopping app allowing users in Francce to purchase goods directly from their TV.
The app is accessible on DTT through HbbTV smart TVs and alerts the viewer with an on-screen pop-up when it is possible to order a product. The payment process is fully synchronised with the TV set.
To develop this new app TF1, which is already active in e-commerce, worked with connected TV specialist Wiztivi.
TF1 forecasts shopping directly from the TV set will represent 20 per cent of all sales within a few years.
