Dubai-based MBC is to cooperate with Egypt’s state-funded Radio & Television Union (ERTU) in programme-making. The cooperation with the Dubai-based broadcaster would include the production of programmes and drama series as well as collaborations in the fields of marketing and training, according to Egypt’s Minister of Information, Doriya Sharaf al-Din.
If Egyptian state television makes a popular series or programme, it could then be aired on MBC and the latter would then give the Egyptian television company half of the profits generated, stated the Minister.
The cooperation agreement was formally signed by the head of ERTU, Essam al-Amir, who said that the agreement could be extended to marketing and training.
