Belgacom adds 30,000 pay-TV subs

Belgacom has reported that while profit declined in the first quarter, it is on track to meet full-year guidance.
Net profit at the company was €149 million for the first quarter of 2014, down from €171 million in the first quarter of 2013. EBITDA was €412 million, or 6.6 per cent lower than during the same period a year ago.
The telco added 30,000 TV subscriptions in the first quarter, increasing its TV customer base to 1.495 million.
“We continued to have good growth in our Internet and TV customer base, leading to a slightly increasing TV market share in all regions,” Chief Executive Dominique Leroy commented.
