March 27, 2014
Motive Television Services has begun the installation of its Content Express platform in South Africa in accordance with the contract signed in December 2013 with Siyaya Free To Air TV of Johannesburg, South Africa
The project will begin with the installation and integration of Motive’s head-end software, enabling Siyaya services on FreeVision, the new DTH satellite broadcasting platform operated by Sentech, the state-owned supplier of communications technology. Siyaya plans to commence commercial operations using Motive’s technology in autumn 2014.
Motive also announced that it is in the process of negotiating a Software Development Kit License Agreement with Shenzhen Skyworth Digital Technology of Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China, a leading technology manufacturer that will be supplying set-top boxes in support of the Siyaya DTH services.
Leonard M Fertig, CEO of Motive Television plc commented, “We are pleased to have commenced this major project in support of Siyaya, and also our cooperation with Skyworth. Motive has assisted Siyaya for the past year in plans for their DTH satellite and DTT services, and looks forward to a successful launch of this major platform in South Africa. We welcome the partnership with Skyworth on this project, and anticipate that Motive’s progress in South Africa will serve as the gateway to further substantial opportunities across Africa.”
