Mediapro sells US pay-TV channels

Mediapro, shareholder in La Sexta, is selling its three pay TV channels in the US. Its subsidiary Media World is selling Pasiones, with 11 million subscribers, dedicated to TV series and soap operas; Centroamerica TV, with 3.3 million subscribers; and TV Dominicana, with 2.2 million subscribers, for €74.5 millions to Hemisphere Media.
Based in Miami, Media World will continue producing the channels and providing the technical services. Hemisphere operates a cable TV network formed by Cinelatino, WAPA TV and WAPA America with Spanish-speaking content.
