Zon chooses Appear TV
September 30, 2013
Appear TV, a global provider of next-generation head-ends for broadcast and IP television, has announced that its scrambling and multiplexer solutions have been deployed at ZON Multimedia, the Portugese pay-TV operator and content provider.
The installation, which is scheduled to go live in late 2013, is being managed by Satcab, the Appear TV Portuguese business partner.
“The flexibility and high-density of the Appear TV scrambling solution made it an ideal choice as the scrambling solution for our upgraded satellite broadcast infrastructure,” says José Pascoal, planning and engineer director, ZON. “We already use Appear TV head-ends for our RF network, so we understand the advantages of the company’s modular design philosophy. We look forward to Appear TV’s scrambling and multiplexing solutions playing an important part in our state-of-the-art infrastructure upgrade.”
