Canadian telco Bell has welcomed its one millionth subscriber to Bell Mobile TV, the wireless data service that offers on-the-go access to more than 40 channels of live and on-demand sports, news, entertainment and children’s TV programming.
“Bell invited consumers to pick a screen and fill it with goodness – and a million Canadians have now done so with Bell Mobile TV on their smartphones and tablets,” said Wade Oosterman, President of Bell Mobility. “Bell has made the heavy investments in high-speed data networks, high-demand programming, and TV-capable mobile devices that let consumers take TV anywhere. We’re proud to have staked out an international leadership position for Canada in the fast-growth mobile TV sector.”
“Live broadcasts are a key driver for mobile TV, led by Canada’s and the world’s biggest sporting events but also the major awards shows, TV season finales and special events like the Toronto International Film Festival that people want to watch wherever they may be,”continued Oosterman. “Bell Mobile TV is uniquely easy to access too – Bell enables customers to watch mobile TV without impacting their regular data usage.”
