August 22, 2013
SMiT, the global-leading operation platform provider for secure distribution of paid content, has announced that Russian pay-TV operator NTV-PLUS, the leading pay-TV operator in Russia, has selected its industrial advanced CI+ CAM.
The customised CI+ CAM has been integrated with Viaccess-Orca’s Conditional Access System (CAS) in order to conform with the latest security requirements while maintaining compatibility with the CI+ standard. Viaccess-Orca’s CAS delivers a high standard of content protection. The scale-as-you-grow solution supports a large number of subscribers, from thousands to millions, adapting to an operator’s specific needs. Relying on SMIT’s cutting-edge CAM solution and the close cooperation with all parties, the product has passed the strict evaluation criteria of both NTV Plus and Viaccess-Orca.
NTV Plus is the first DTH operator to introduce CI+ CAM in Russian-speaking countries, offering those subscribers an easier way to enjoy HDTV programmes using a DVB-S2 built-in iDTV.
“We are very pleased to launch CI+ CAM to the Russian DTH market together with NTV-PLUS and Viaccess-Orca,” said Mr. Stephen He, executive vice president at SMiT. “Our CI+ CAM platform enables operators to provide their customers with a more convenient way of watching digital TV while reducing costs. We will continue to work on improving and promoting this product to simplify TV viewing for more subscribers.”
