Sony Electronics is using every form of publicity to bang the drum for its new Ultra-HD 4K displays, now appearing in department stores, Sony Stores and Best Buy retail outlets. It has hired director Garth Davis as well as Oscar-winning cinematographer Claudio Miranda to make its TV commercial, and an expanded showcase of the 4K shoot to be shown on the sets.
The TV spots start airing nationally this week, and there will also be digital ads, print ads and radio commercials as well as the usual point-of-sale material.
