Ofcom awards Leeds TV licence
February 15, 2013
Ofcom has awarded the local TV licence for Leeds to Made Television, giving the company chaired by former BSkyB executive and Top Up TV co-founder Ian West its fourth franchise.
The group, which has already won licences for the cities of Cardiff, Bristol, and Newcastle, beat four other bidders for the right to broadcast the channel Made In Leeds.
Ofcom now has to decide on just two more cities – Liverpool and Preston – in the bidding process for the first round of 19 local TV licences.
