ALi STB solution mass production

ALi Corporation, a provider of STB system-on-chip (SoC) solutions, has revealed that its new AVS+DTMB standard definition STB solution, M3381T, will be shipped to MSO in mass production quantity in October, 2012. The M3381T has gained approval from MSO, signifying recognition on ALi’s achievement in developing AVS+DTMB STBsolutions.
According to the Standardisation Administration of China, effective as of November 1st 2012, all digital TV receivers (STB or digital TV) for sale on the Chinese domestic market must include decoding function supporting AVS. Ever since the inauguration of the AVS Industry Alliance, ALi has been avidly participating in the development of decoding technology supporting AVS. Following the supply of engineering samples of AVS HD solution to CCTV, the mass production of M3381T once again demonstrates ALi’s strength in the development and marketing of AVS STB solutions.
The M3381T features high performance RISC CPU with speed up to 600MHz satisfying operators’ needs to offer value-added services, DDR2/DDR3 DRAM with clock frequencies up to 800MHz and 1066MHz respectively, USB 2.0 host supporting end user upgrades and PVR functions, and standard definition video decoder supporting MPEG-2/MPEG-4, AVS, H.264 providing flexibility for operators.
