Zeebox has appointed Time Warner senior vice president Jason Forbes to head the second screen companion app’s business in the US.
As US executive vice president, Forbes will build Zeebox’s American team and will be charged with developing partnerships with distributors, programmers and agencies.
Zeebox chief executive Anthony Rose said Forbes “brings significant domain expertise and a broad set of relationships in the US broadcasting and media industries. As EVP USA, Jason will apply his operational experience and strategic insight to supporting our launch in the US market.”
The companion app, monitors social media discussion about a programme while it is on air and provides links to related content. It launched in October 2011 and has since done trials of bespoke content with Channel 4 and Sky has bought a 10 per cent stake in it.
