Coinciding with the Dubai CABSAT show, sales analysis specialist GfK reports that Saudi Arabia’s technical consumer goods have again demonstrated extremely strong growth throughout last year.
Camera sales did best of all (up 60 per cent y-o-y) although telecommunications (smart phones) and IT sectors represent greater value in revenue terms. The top three contributors in terms of value for Q4 2011 were Telco (up 43.35 per cent), IT (19.17 per cent) and Consumer Electronics (17.54 per cent).
For Q4 last year, sales were worth (in Saudi Riyals) 10.12 billion, down on Q3 (SAR 10.85 billion) but significantly ahead of 2010’s like-for-like period when Q4/2010 sales were SAR 7.76 billion and Q3/2010 only SAR 7.03 billion.
