India’s Times Internet Limited is planning to launch a video streaming service that will offer premium content, such as films and TV shows, to Indian consumers through the web.
The service, BoxTV, will be available on computers, tablets and smartphones, Satyan Gajwani, director ( new media) at the Times Group, told delegates at the Ad-Tech digital marketing conference in New Delhi.
Gajwani said India’s largest media group aims to become more relevant for new-age consumers, and is in the process of introducing new products across the news and entertainment categories. He said the group may invest in more companies soon as its strategy is to “innovate, invest and incubate”.
