July 13, 2011
Online DVD rental company Quickflix has signed a digital distribution deal with Sony Australia, as it moves to roll out a subscription streaming service.
The deal will allow Quickflix to steam movies to every Sony Bravia compatible device. These also include some Blu Ray players and home theatre centres, as well as Sony VAIO computers and Bravia TV models.
The service will go live later in the year. Quickflix CEO Chris Taylor said the company plans to introduce streaming as part of its goal to reach a million customers in five years.
