BBC News app for connected TVs

The BBC has confirmed the launch of a BBC News app for connected televisions. The BBC revealed that the app will “provide 20 to 25 minutes of footage to get the user up to date, and should provide the same info as watching a bulletin on BBC One.”
The free app is available in the UK immediately on Samsung connected TVs and will later roll out to a range of connected devices. BBC Worldwide also plans to launch an Internet, ad-supported version of the app.
