South Africa’s Top TV, the alternative pay-TV operator to Multichoice’s DStv, has won 283,000 subscribers (gross activations) in its first year of operation.
The initial target for its first year of operation was 190,000-200,000, and CEO Vino Govender says that this is well ahead of expectations. Top TV went ‘live’ on May 1st last year.
Govinder, talking exclusively to Advanced-Television.com, says that churn is extremely modest thanks to the company’s pre-paid card system.
