C4 VOD with FilmFlex
November 2, 2010
Channel 4 has teamed up with FilmFlex to launch a video-on-demand digital film rental service for Film4 with more than 500 titles available at launch. Film4oD will offer a 48-hour rental service with titles priced from 50p to £3.99 (E4.56). C4 claims it will have more films available than rivals such as Lovefilm and Blinkbox,
Julia Wrigley, head of Film4, said that the digital service would allow the broadcaster to “amplify” the film seasons broadcast on the TV channel.
FilmFlex is a joint venture between Sony Pictures Television and Disney. Channel 4 already runs the 4oD on-demand service, which focuses on catchup TV programming.
