March 24, 2010
From Colin Mann at IPTV World Forum in London
Integrated telecommunication services provider Comstar-UTS has deployed distributed video delivery specialist Edgware's next-generation video delivery solution to power its Time-shift TV service in Russia.
In the first phase, the Russian operator will offer Pause Live-TV to its more than 133,000 IPTV subscribers in Moscow using the Edgeware platform distributed into multiple sites in the region.
Joachim Roos, CEO of Edgeware, said that operators such as Comstar now had the opportunity to deploy a full range of highly scalable video based services across all three screens. “By effectively transitioning their existing VOD based services to add time-shift and Pause Live-TV, they have set the stage for fully integrated internet TV and Video services that can scale across the whole subscriber base and deliver content to their TV, computer and mobile devices,” he added.
