January 26, 2010
International cableco Liberty Global is selling its stake in Japanese operator Jupiter for $4 billion, a transaction that will help it focus on consolidation of the European cable-TV industry. Liberty Global will sell its 37.8 per cent stake to KDDI Corp, the second-largest telco in Japan.
In November Liberty Global bought German cable and broadband business Unitymedia for $2.96 billion from its private equity owners.
