October 7, 2009
Polish DVB-H mobile TV services provider Info-TV-FM has released the details of its wholesale offer and opened the service to testers in Warsaw with compatible mobile phones. Albert Kuzmicz, president of one of the company’s main backers Magna Polonia, told local reporters that the company is in talks with mobile operators on launching commercial services in 2010. It may also talk to other distributors such as cable operators.
The pilot service offers 12 TV channels and eight radio stations, and the company hopes to extend the service with more premium and international channels. According to a study by PwC cited by the company, the service could attract up to 200,000 subscribers in 2012 and eventually 1.3 million.
