Sky Italia is set to turn a profit for the first time since launch in Italy in 1991 under the brand Tele+. The results of parent News Corp reveal that profits were up from E32 million in H1 2006 to E164 million in the first six months of this year.
Currently, Sky Italia has over 4.2 million subscribers (compared to less than 2 million in June 2003) and is aiming for 5 million in 2008. Last year's revenues topped E2.3 billion.
