IPTV sets pace in Spanish pay-TV

Telefonica's IPTV platform Imagenio and Mediapro-owned pay DTT channel Gol TV are now leading the growth of the pay-TV in Spain capturing most subscriptions.
By contrast, the largest pay-TV operators, the digital satellite platform Digital Plus and the cable company ONO are increasingly losing subs
Imagenio added 90,000 subscribers in 2009 up to more than 700,000, representing a market share of over 17 per cent. Launched in August last year, Gol TV has managed to capture 150,000 DTT subscribers and 1 million as a whole including all distribution platforms.
Digital Plus, owned by Sogecable, lost almost 200,000 subscribers with a market share dropping to 45.3 per cent from 50 per cent, and ONO lost 64,000 clients.
