Telenor Satellite: “Flat revenues”
May 7, 2014
By Chris Forrester
Telenor’s Satellite Broadcasting (TSBc) division reported “flat y-o-y revenues” for Q1 trading of NKr 238 million (2013, NKr 237 million) although the NKr 238 million represented a fall from the Q4/2013 revenue position of NKr 247 million. Revenues and EBITDA performance were both in line with 2014 expectations despite a fall of 3 percent in EBITDA.
TBSc trading is flat while it awaits the launch later this year of its giant Thor 7 satellite currently being tested at Space Systems/Loral and which is expected to start delivering revenues in early 2015 from the maritime and aeronautical sector.
The operator reported that as at April 2014 its satellite coverage (from the 1 degree West operating position) reached more than 17.5 million households across Europe.
