German cable operator Kabel BW has chosen NDS's MediaHighway middleware, XTV integrated digital video recorder (DVR) technology and an NDS video on demand (VOD) solution for the introduction of new entertainment services. The deployments are designed to enable Kabel BW to manage efficiently its entire STB population and seamlessly introduce new, compelling entertainment services, including HD DVR and VOD. The deal follows Kabel BW's 2007 selection and deployment of NDS VideoGuard content protection technology.

Yves Padrines, Vice President, Business Development at NDS and General Manager NDS GmbH suggested the deal further highlighted NDS as the fastest growing provider of digital pay-TV technology in the German market.
