Magine appoints Bherwani as Chairman
March 11, 2014
Magine, the Stockholm-headquartered cloud-based TV service, has confirmed the appointment of Kamal Bherwani as its new Chairman in advance of further international expansion.
Following the creation of a partnership with ProSiebenSat.1 in January 2014 – the first time a third-party deal had been made to distribute all the leading German commercial broadcaster’s channels via an OTT service –Bherwani has accepted the role of Chairman at a time of continued growth within both existing and new international markets, with announcements anticipated over the coming months. At present, Magine is fully launched in its native Sweden, and is in beta form in Spain and Germany.
Bherwani has been on the Magine board since the service’s commercial launch in Sweden in March 2013, having previously held the roles of Chief Digital Officer and Chief Technology Officer at PRISA, the world’s largest Spanish language media company, where he led its transformation from a traditional to a global digital media entity.
