Dailymotion and Canal+ in content protection accord
October 22, 2007
Canal+ and video-sharing site Dailymotion are joining forces to work towards better protection of Canal+ content on Dailymotion. Following discussions Dailymotion and Canal+ have agreed to co-operate closely in the detection of Canal+ programmes that are rights-protected.
“Dailymotion has made it a point of honour to be the preferred partner of players in the media world and cultural streams of music and film,” commented Mark Zaleski, Dailymotion President, who added that in the space of a few months, the company had integrated leading technologies such as audio fingerprinting and would soon be adding video fingerprinting – to prevent protected videos being put online.
