DirecTV is adding 3D content to its VOD options available to Latina American subscribers. Initial content will be 3D movies, and available to the pay-TV broadcaster’s HDTV services, and who own a suitable 3D set (and glasses).
DirecTV Latin America has already shown some 3D material (the Barcelona vs Real Madrid football match last April) as well as the opening and closing Olympic Games ceremonies. It has now struck a deal with Moviecity for the supply of movies.
DirecTV says these 3D movies will be enhanced from time to time with other suitable live material.
