September 10, 2012
Technicolor has established a partnership with Telecom Italia for its next generation Cubovision service, bridging Pay-TV content, over-the-top applications and personal media.
Telecom Italia will use Technicolor’s latest generation MediaPlay Set-Top Box platform, a hybrid Pay-TV/Over-the-Top Media Server for the home, which offers the highest performance for multi-room video distribution over wireless. Its advanced software capabilities enable the delivery of advanced over-the-top services for an integrated TV and applications experience.
Technicolor will also offer the MediaAccess Residential Service Gateways, which delivers high-speed bandwidth and optimised wireless for a smooth content and applications distribution within the home.
To ensure the best content quality, Technicolor will also provide content workflow and asset management, supporting the video infrastructure for the CuboVision offering.
Michel Rahier, President of Technicolor’s Connected Home division, said: “This partnership with Telecom Italia demonstrates Technicolor’s ability to integrate value added video devices, software and services to deliver consumers with a leading-edge Connected Home experience. We are very excited to leverage these solid foundations to accompany services providers in bringing innovative services packages to the market.”
