Global Radio to launch TV channels
July 3, 2012
The UK’s largest commercial radio operator, Global Radio, is expanding into television with the launch of two music channels based on its Heart and Capital brands.
Global Radio, which also owns Classic FM and the talk station LBC, will launch Heart TV and Capital TV on Sky and Freesat, the satellite channel jointly owned by the BBC and ITV, in September.
Global said the channels will play “non-stop” music videos and will “deepen and enhance the clear brand identities of the Heart and Capital brands targeting audiences in the same demographics as the radio stations”.
