German cable operators association ANGA says that cable remains dominant as the favoured TV delivery method. ANGA says more than 18 million German homes (42 per cent) still take a cable service despite the growing shift towards DTH supply and the availability of DSL connections.

AMGA says that all German cable networks now offer digital services, supplying up to 120 free TV and around 75 pay-TV channels. 40 channels are in HDTV.

There are some 3.6 million broadband customers (a 13 per cent market share), and ANGA says its cable members will serve around 60 per cent of all homes with 100 Mbps connectivity by early 2013.
