Middlechild expands with Wildchild Studios
December 5, 2025
Middlechild Productions is launching Wildchild Studios, a new sister company dedicated to creating digital content.
“We’ve been making digital first content for a while now,” commented David Sumnall Founder and CEO of Middlechild Productions, who will oversee Wildchild alongside MD Andrew Eastel. “It felt like the perfect moment to create a stand-alone studio built entirely around digital storytelling and innovation.”
Middlechild recently launched its first YouTube channel – Gardening with Alan Titchmarsh, and is now seeking to build on its success. Middlechild’s I Printed a Gun: Plastic and Deadly (pictured) also recently took home Best Documentary at the Broadcast Digital Awards, and helped change UK law on 3D-printed firearms.
Wildchild’s slate kicks off with two fresh YouTube channels — one fronted by a top-tier chef, and another diving into the pet world with a household-name presenter (with both names currently under wraps) . By the end of 2026, Wildchild aims to be running five original YouTube channels.
The studio will serve as a one-stop digital shop, expanding Middlechild’s standout digital storytelling – from documentaries such as Prison Stories and World’s Most Dangerous Rescues (Quintus), to presenter-led films like Therapy: Tough Talking and Jordan North’s Truth About Vaping (BBC Three).
Wildchild, with offices in Brighton and Newcastle, will also be producing digital content for various online platforms including OMG Stories, Filth, and Origin, through a new partnership with Upstream.
