Banijay Germany launches Banijay Germany Live

Banijay Germany has announced its live entertainment operations will be brought together under the umbrella of the newly founded Banijay Germany Live. Under the dedicated business, activities will be organised into three areas: Comedy Live Brands, Tour Booking and the development of live formats. MTS Live and Brainpool Live will subsequently be merged into the operation, with the latter remaining a label within the new division.
Ingrid Langheld assumes the role of CEO of Banijay Germany Live, focusing on strategy and new business development. Godehard Wolpers is responsible for Live Brands & TV Production as Managing Director, and Lara Aupke becomes Managing Director for Booking & Event Management. Wolpers remains Managing Director of Brainpool TV, and MTS Management in Münster, with Managing Directors Töne Stallmeyer and Katharina Bok, will continue to operate.

With this approach, we aim to position ourselves as the home of live entertainment while simultaneously developing new business areas.”
Banijay Germany Live’s portfolio will include established Comedy Live brands such as the Cologne Comedy Festival, Germany’s Best Comedians, NightWash, and the 1LIVE Comedy Night XXL, as well as the new NightWash club – a dedicated club in Cologne that has been providing a stage for comedy, entertainment, and TV productions almost year-round since October.
The tour booking division encompasses the event booking of both the aforementioned live brands plus solo artists. This includes the previous MTS Live tour events featuring renowned artists such as Atze Schröder, Osan Yaran, Lisa Feller, Die drei ???, Tony Bauer, as well as the tours of Swiss stand-up comedian Alain Frei and Sebastian Lege, who were recently signed.
The development of live formats division, includes Luminiscene projects, produced in partnership with creator Lotchi (a Banijay Live company). The multimedia 360° illumination spectacle launched in Germany in St. Paul’s Cathedral in Münster, and coming soon to the Lorenzkirche in Nuremberg, combining history, video mapping, a live choir, organ music, and live narration, for a captivating journey through the history of the buildings.
Banijay Germany Live’s first signing is the contract extension with artist Osan Yaran.
The news aligns with Banijay Entertainment’s broader ambitions in live events and experiences following the launch of Banijay Live in 2023.
