Now Sky Italia on regulation rack
October 6, 2008
BSkyB is beset by competition enquiries and now Sky Italia is facing an investigation by the competition authority AGCOM into whether the pay-TV platform is abusing a dominant position. The probe, lead by the financial police, the Guardia di Finanza, was launched after a complaint from Conto TV, a third party channel carried on the Sky Italia platform. It claims the conditions imposed by Sky to broadcast on the platform were not transparent and failed to reflect their true cost.Sky Italia said: "We have always guaranteed access to our platform at fair, transparent and non-discriminatory conditions. We are confident that the results of the Antitrust authority's preliminary investigation will confirm Sky's absolute correctness." ……….
