Sunset+Vine to produce Crystal Palace’s Europa Conference League match for 5
August 19, 2025
Sunset+Vine, the UK’s independent football production company, will be covering Crystal Palace’s first matches in a major European competition as the FA Cup Winners begin their Europa Conference League journey live on free-to-air broadcaster, 5.
Norwegian club Fredrikstad FK stand in the path of The Eagles reaching the Group Stage, with the build-up to the first leg of their play-off at Selhurst Park starting at 7.30pm on August 21st.
Oliver Glasner’s side will be looking to emulate fellow London sides West Ham and holders Chelsea in lifting the Europa Conference League trophy and will be full of confidence after winning the Community Shield earlier this month.
Alex Aljoe will present the programme, while Joel Ward makes an early return to the club he left this summer after 13 years of loyal service as one of her guests.
Sunset+Vine will deploy 16 cameras for match coverage and presentation with production led by Executive Producer Stephen Booth and FIFA World Cup Final director Jamie Oakford.
This latest commission follows hot on the heels of Sunset+Vine’s coverage of Chelsea’s pre-season friendlies for Channel 5 and is the latest in a series of prestigious football broadcasting contracts, including those for the Premier League and UEFA Champions League on Prime Video, as well as the BBC, FIFA and UEFA.
“We’re thrilled to partner with 5 again to bring the excitement of these historic matches for Crystal Palace,” said Peter Angell, Sunset+Vine CEO. “Our team is the best in the business of football broadcast, and we will once again be delivering the engaging viewing experience that Sunset+Vine is renowned for.”
“Following the success of this summer’s Club World Cup on 5, we’re delighted to be covering the opening chapter of Crystal Palace’s first ever major European campaign, live on free-to-air TV,” commented Raphael Pendergast, Acting Head of Sport, 5. “It’s a pleasure to be working with Sunset+Vine again to bring another top-quality production to 5.”
