SWISSto12 buying Hanwha Phasor assets

August 19, 2025

Hanwha Phasor is bankrupt. The European and US divisions of Korea’s Hanwha Systems and Hanwha Aerospace made highly sophisticated flat-panel satellite antennas but the division was closed at the end of 2024.

It has now emerged that satellite hardware manufacturer SWISSto12 is buying Hanwha’s electronically steered antenna assets, but not the full business.

Phasor Solutions of Britain (a subsidy of Phasor Inc) was founded back in 2005 in the UK and was bought by Hanwha in mid-2020. Phasor has had a tough time financially but was still talking about introducing a phased array antenna this year. Its target market focussed on aircraft and military take-up.

Swissto12, on August 16th, issued the following statement: “As publicly announced earlier this year, Hanwha Phasor was put into voluntary liquidation. Following this, SWISSto12 has acquired some assets put out for sale. Those assets will be used to complement SWISSto12’s efforts towards bringing cutting-edge user terminals and associated electronically scanned antennas (AESAs) to the market, with primary focus on Ku and Ka bands for AESAs.”

SWISSto12 appointed former SES CEO Steve Collar as its chairman in March.
