Ukraine chooses 28 national DTT channels

The National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting in Ukraine has selected the winners of a tender for 28 digital television channels in four national multiplexes (MX-1, MX-2, MX-3 and MX-5).
An Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported that International Commercial TRK LLC (ICTV), Novy Channel LLC, Teleodyn LLC (ÑM-1, ÑM-2), Studio 1+1, TET TV company, Kino-TV (the Enter film channel) and private joint-stock company International Media Center TV (STB) were declared the winners of the tender.
Among other winners are K-2 TV channel, Ukrainian Independent TV Corporation (the Inter channel), NBM TRK LLC (the Fifth Channel), NTKU (First National channel), Tonis TV channel, Mega TV channel, Muzyka TV (Enter music), Information Service TV Studio (NTN channel) and Musical Television LLC (MTV-Ukraine).
TRK Ukraina obtained the right to broadcast its three channels: Ukraina, Kinotochka and NLO-TV.
Totvilt LLC (the Hockey TV channel), Aspera 2011 LLC, Gold Berry LLC, Multi Media Service, New Communications TRK, Pohoda-TV TRK, Banking Television LLC (the channel of the National Bank of Ukraine), Korona Sunrise LLC and Real Estate TV were declared the winners of the tender.
Ukraine’s ORT LLC, which was created by the Russian ORT TV channel and TVi Ukrainian TV channel did not obtain a licence.
A total of 59 bids from 54 television and radio companies were submitted for the tender.
