BBC Things To Do Hub
June 7, 2011
The BBC has launched an online hub, Things To Do, that lets users search for local activities offered by the broadcaster and its partners. The aim is to encourage users to engage more with activities run by the BBC and partners including the National Trust and Wildlife Trust. Activities will extend across a range of genres including nature, science, music and sports, influenced by the BBC’s TV schedule.
As part of the online strategy, knowledge and learning was earmarked as one of ten categories to become a focal point in the BBC’s Delivering Quality First strategy.
Previously all information about programme-related activities, such as the Bang Goes The Theory Roadshow and Stargazing Live, were separated across the web. The Things To Do hub will aggregate all the content, in keeping with the BBC’s strategy of consolidating its online properties and making its portals destination sites.
