Joe and Anthony Russo, the co-directors behind the Marvel blockbucter movie Avengers: Endgame, will be part of a team adapting Reed Tucker’s book, Slugfest: Inside The Epic, 50-year Battle Between Marvel And DC, into a new documentary series for Quibi.
Tucker’s book, published in 2017, looked at the rise and history of the two most famous comic book companies in the world. The show will chart the rise of the brands, and share previous untold stories. The series will also feature behind-the-scenes stories, including the first official Marvel and DC crossover comic between Superman and Spider-Man that was published in the 1970s.
Quibi, the short-form mobile content platform, is set to launch in spring 2020.
