Vodafone Spain and Orange have agreed a deal to share their networks (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G and optic fibre) to save money, boost efficiency and extend their presence throughout the country.

In a joint statement, the companies said that the deal’s goal is “promoting a sustainable investment model that allows to speed up the arrival of new NGA networks (including 5G) to those customers in vast geographical areas in a more efficient way”.

The deal will enable Vodafone to take optic fibre to an additional 1 million homes. Vodafone looks to save around €600 million in 10 years thanks to the agreement.

Orange will be able to improve its mobile coverage and speed up the deployment of 5G via the deal.
