Beginning September 28th, Canal + channels offered what the broadcaster described as a 5-star weekend with more than 120 hours of non-stop sport, with golf’s Ryder Cup, flagship event of the weekend, has kept all its promises with the triumph of the European team at the Golf National course.
In total, 2.2 million viewers watched the 42nd running of the tournament between Friday 28th and Sunday 30th September on Canal+ or Canal + SPORT, a record number of viewers for the sport on the airwaves of Canal+ and for the competition, played for the first time in its history in France.
An exceptional, live and exclusive feature was offered on Canal+ channels with more than six hours free-to-air and the entire event on Canal+ SPORT and GOLF+.
The 2018 Ryder Cup contributed to the success of this 5-star weekend, which also featured exclusive Ligue 1 football, derby weekend in Rugby Union’s Top 14, the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Russia and the Women’s Basketball World Cup.
