Italian commercial broadcaster Mediaset has launched its new multi-platform app that enables streaming and on-demand viewing of its TV channels and programmes.
Mediaset Play, which replaces Mediaset On Demand, is available on iOS and Android devices, as well as for PC and Smart TV sets compatible with the HbbTV 2.0.1. standard.
In addition to live streaming of Mediaset’s channels (Canale 5, Italia, Rete 4, 20, La5, Italia 2, Mediaset Extra, Focus, Top Crime, Iris and TGCom24), viewers can also restart the programmes in progress thanks to the restart feature.
The on-demand section currently contains TV series, while movies will be added later. All content is currently only available in standard definition.
Mediaset Play is free of charge, but includes video advertising.
