Spain: TV ad revenues slowdown in 2017

Spain’s TV ad revenues grew by just 1 per cent in 2017 to €2.14 billion versus €2.12 billion the previous year, according to Infoadex.
Nationwide TV channels took €1.93 billion whereas Regional TV stations managed €114.2 million, down 10 per cent.
The duopoly Mediaset-Atresmedia controlled the market with an 84.7 per cent share, with Mediaset leading with 43 per cent and Atresmedia with 41.4 per cent. Mediaset’s ad revenues amounted to €927 million, up 0.9 per cent, whereas Atresmedia reached €887 million, down 0.7 per cent.
Pay-TV ad revenues saw strong growth with a rise of 16.2 per cent to €94.6 million.
