Disney to support 4K Blu-ray format
June 9, 2017
Disney is seemingly preparing to add its support for the 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray format.
According to a report from Digital Bits, Disney has put off supporting 4K discs until Dolby Vision HDR technology was more widespread in both 4K players and displays in the homes of consumers.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 is now likely to be the company’s first 4K Blu-ray release later this year, with director James Gunn being a vocal supporter of the format.
