Rivada Space Networks, which has for some time been planning a 600-satellite constellation which it calls its ‘Outernet’, has won another potential client.

Zharyq Kazakhstan, a telecom operator and communications systems integrator, is partnering with Rivada Space Networks to provide a unique next generation connectivity network with the necessary security and performance to drive digital innovation and transformation.

Rivada says it has now lined up over $20 billion of business globally for its LEO network.

The ‘Outernet’ scheme could offer a highly-secure suite of satellites and with laser optical links for maximum security of data and transmissions.

However, despite the claimed business opportunities the firm has made no announcements regarding financing or starting production of the satellites.
