Slovakia: SPI International partners with Markíza Group

SPI International has entered into a partnership with Markíza Group sales house, part of CME – a broadcaster and content creator in Central and Eastern Europe. Markíza Group is consequently now the exclusive representative for advertising sales on FilmBox in Slovakia.
FilmBox is among SPI International’s flagship brands, offering Hollywood films, celebrated classics and popular TV series. For 20 years, the channel has been present on the Slovak and Czech market.
“This new partnership reflects our strategy of expanding SPI International’s advertising presence throughout the region, following the recent introduction of advertising on DIZI in Bulgaria. With Markíza Group on board, we are confident that FilmBox will achieve even stronger visibility and commercial success in Slovakia,” commented said Erwan Luherne, Managing Director at SPI International.
Slovakia is among five CEE markets where SPI International operates its TV advertising business, together with Poland, Czechia, Hungary, and additionally Bulgaria. While FilmBox previously carried Czech‑language advertising in Slovakia, the company is now introducing advertising breaks localised in Slovak to better address local market needs.

The FilmBox channel is available for Slovak audiences through major local operators, including Skylink, Slovak Telekom, Digi and Orange, ensuring broad reach for advertisers.
