Banijay Entertainment’s Tipping Point signs New Zealand deal

March 13, 2026

Media and entertainment powerhouse, Banijay Entertainment, has announced international momentum for Tipping Point, with the hit quiz format heading to New Zealand for the first time. Produced by Screentime New Zealand, a Banijay Entertainment company, Celebrity Tipping Point NZ has been commissioned by TVNZ and will air later this year on TVNZ 1 and TVNZ+, presented by news broadcaster Daniel Faitaua.

Tipping Point first launched on ITV in the UK, where series fifteen is set to air soon, produced by Banijay UK label Remarkable Entertainment. The format is growing internationally, with local versions currently on-air in Australia on the Nine Network, and a successful recent debut in Malta on TVM. In this long-running game show format, contestants take on an iconic coin-pusher machine in a battle of general knowledge skills, timing and luck. Correct answers earn control of the machine, where players drop counters in the hope of pushing cash-winning tokens into the win zone.

Philly de Lacey, MD, Screentime NZ, commented: “Delivering premium, world-class entertainment is part of our DNA at Screentime New Zealand, and we love bringing our Kiwi sensibility to much-loved international franchises. Tipping Point is a proven ratings winner across markets, and this commission with TVNZ is a brilliant opportunity to showcase the energy and play-along appeal we know resonates with audiences here.”

Nadia Tolich, Chief News and Content Officer, TVNZ, said: “Tipping Point is a hugely successful format around the world, and we know Kiwi audiences love seeing their favourite international hits brought to life locally. A New Zealand celebrity edition lets us take everything audiences enjoy about the show and give it a distinctly Kiwi flavour. Daniel is a fantastic presenter, and with him at the helm – alongside a raft of well-known faces playing for charity – Celebrity Tipping Point NZ will be a fun, entertaining and competitive new addition to our primetime line-up.”

Lucas Green, Chief Content Officer, Operations at Banijay Entertainment, added: “Tipping Point’s expansion into New Zealand marks another significant step in the format’s global journey, reinforcing its adaptability, enduring audience demand, and easy-to-join-in appeal. Across our catalogue, we’re proud to have over 30 formats produced in three or more markets, and this deal is yet another example of the strength of our creative community at Banijay Entertainment.”

Screentime New Zealand continues to be one of the country’s leading producers of premium content. Recent projects including international crime drama A Remarkable Place to Die; local versions of international formats Love it or List It, My Kitchen Rules and Eat Well for Less; and locally created IP A Taste of Art, First Responders and Off the Grid with Colin & Manu. The company is also behind Remarkable Studios, state-of-the-art studio facilities used by multiple international productions.

Tipping Point sits within Banijay Entertainment’s extensive portfolio of quiz and game show hits including Deal or No Deal, Pointless, The Money Drop, Minute to Win It, Don’t Forget the Lyrics, Anything Goes and many more.
